Thank you, Microsoft, for another cool little product. Is it perfectly adequate for video phone calls. Is it "high definition" quality. Great little product. She told us about Skype, so my wife and I each bought one of these combination mic/web cameras for our desktop computers.
Easy to use, excellent sound quality, and we're thrilled with ours. Not even close. We installed the software quickly, plugged the units into our USB ports, and viola. My daughter moved to England for a few months, and we're keeping two of her dogs for her. Instantly we were sharing an online video call with my daughter so she could see and "talk to" her two Shih-Tsu pups.
Absolutely.
The Microsoft LifeCam requires software installation, and I could not get the sound to work at all. The generic webcam was super easy to install and the sound worked great. Perhaps it was just this camera and the rest are better, but I am returning the LifeCam and getting two of the other. I was in need of two webcams. I bought this (the Microsoft LifeCam) and a less expensive webcam, a generic Flexible 5.0 Megapixel USB PC Camera with Microphone. I was very disappointed.
bought this for my 12 yo son to talk to him from across country on skype.it works ok.but I cant tell if the camera is poor quality or if its skype that could produce a better picture.
Don't let the low price fool you, it works. It works just great and my young granddaughters are amazed. I bought two of these webcams, for me and my Navy son and his family so we could connect over the miles. I could not get Windows Live to work once I got us both loaded, so I deleted all the Windows programming and we now use Skype. I just purchased two more for my daughters so everyone can be connected.
I was looking for a basic web cam and I was pleased with my purchase. I am not an expert on web cam quality but I would say this is a very decent camera.
